Meet The Team
Practitioners

Alex Firth
Principal Chiropractor
Hi my name is Alex and I am the Principal chiropractor here at Alba Spinal Health Centre. I also happen to be the co-owner of Alba with my Wife Jemma, we have had the privilege of running this amazing business for over 10 years now. I have been in practice for more than 15 years and feel as excited about coming to work today as I did 15 years ago! Being able to help people who have been struggling and in pain, for sometimes even longer than I have been qualified is such a blessing. A big portion of my daily list of patients is also people who have been seeing me since day one, who just love chiropractic and how it helps them stay well.
I studied and graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic at the University of Glamorgan in 2005.
I became a Chiropractor to help others as I had been helped after having my fledgling senior rugby career cut short by a series of rugby injuries and road traffic accidents.
I became the owner of Alba in February 2009 and have enjoyed being part of the growing Alba family and community and seeing many set free from limiting health conditions.
When I am not at Alba I enjoy serving local churches and communities with Jemma and my 4 kids, Jess, Ivyn, James, and Abi. I also love playing and watching sports with friends.

Beatrice Chau
Chiropractor
I started my studies at the International Medical University Malaysia and completed my studies in the University of South Wales in the UK, graduating with a masters in chiropractic. I chose to study Chiropractic because of an experience my mother had with her chiropractor during her pregnancy. This inspired me, leading me to look into Chiropractic, hoping to help more people that are just like my mother.
I started at Alba in 2021 as a Chiropractor, since then I have met people from different areas & countries. I have treated people with acute pain who where worried it was going to stay forever; people with chronic pain affecting their quality of life, and people that want to maintain the function of their body preventing future injuries. I am glad that I have been a part of their journey to wellness. I also have a special interest in pregnancy and paediatrics.
When I’m not working, I enjoy time with my friends and family. We love to go out seeking great restaurants and shopping. Sometimes we try to recreate our favourite recipes, grabbing the ingredients & heading back home to and try to make the dish ourselves. It is always so much fun to try our creations.

Nick Szablewski
Chiropractor
Hi, I’m Nick, I’m one of the Chiropractors here At Alba Spinal Health Centre. I achieved my Masters in Chiropractic from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2022. I initially found out about Chiropractic through a YouTube video recommendation. My ambition to know how certain conditions come to be, and their potential lifelong effects, with the addition of always trying to help friends and family with their headaches or musculoskeletal issues led me to take up a 4-year course to learn this incredible technique and improve so many patients’ well-being.
I started at Alba in September 2022, since then it has shown me how strong and dedicated the community of patients and practitioners are here. Our practitioners are constantly learning and researching to make sure that our patients are always being treated with the best possible methods that will help their case.
Outside of Alba I go on walks with my Podenco and 3 Border Collies, and from time to time I dabble in baking cakes. When the weather is nice, I like to play a game of tennis or a round of golf with my friends, or at the driving range.

Calum Gleave
Osteomyologist
Hi, I’m Calum I’m an Osteomyologist here at Alba. I completed my studies at the University of Salford originally graduating in Sports Rehabilitation which focussed on manual therapy, anatomy and neurology. I then graduated in the Activator Method which is one of the most widely researched chiropractic techniques in the world.
I decided to become a practitioner after suffering with many different injuries during my teens and not having them helped properly. I wanted to help others in a way that I would’ve liked to be helped growing up. As soon as I helped that first person, and seeing such a change in them, I knew this career was for me.
I have been at Alba since September 2019 and have never looked back. Since being at Alba I have not only made great friends but also helped many different people with many different conditions, specialising in scoliosis, lower back problems and knee conditions.
When I’m not at Alba I keep very active whether that be on a hike, playing football or at the gym. I also love cooking and (unfortunately) support Manchester United.
I look forward to seeing you soon

Jordan Marchant
Osteomyologist
I graduated from Edge Hill University in 2020 gaining a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy. During my studies I gained comprehensive theoretical knowledge and understanding of physiological, anatomical, and neurological pathways suited within scientific theory, and how this underpins how our body functions and its healing process. This then led me to becoming a fully qualified and registered Osteomyologist, where I was provided with expert training using a specialist chiropractic instrument known as the activator.
I started at Alba in July 2022 and have already learnt so much. I became a practitioner because improving someone’s quality of life and being able to be there for them when they need it the most is extremely rewarding and fulfilling job to have, and I love knowing that you are literally changing someone’s life for the greater good every day at Alba. Everyone here at Alba has become my second family.
In my free time I love spending it with family and friends and exploring different waterfalls across the UK with my favourite so far being Ingleton Waterfalls trail.

Jemma Firth
Director & Principal Chiropractor
Hi, my name is Jemma I am the principal Chiropractor here at Alba Spinal Health Centre. I also happen to be the co-owner of Alba with my husband Alex, and we have had the privilege of running this amazing business since 2009. I have been in practice for more than 15 years and feel as excited coming to work today as I did 15 years ago! Being able to help people who have been struggling and in pain, for sometimes even longer than I have been qualified is such a blessing.
I grew up watching my mum have her quality of life seriously improved by her chiropractor on a regular basis. We lived in a rural part of South Africa and she would drive more than an hour for her regular adjustments. Seeing how much it helped her made me certain it was a career path I wanted to pursue. I commenced a 4 year bachelor’s degree in chiropractic at the University of South Wales, and started my career in 2006. Working at Alba, surrounded by the exceptional team we have here, is a real joy. I have easily performed more than 100,000 adjustments in my career, and have no desire to slow down yet!
As the most senior practitioner at Alba, my role also involves coaching and mentoring the rest of the team, which I love to do! I also love public speaking, and I am passionate about sharing the message of chiropractic, so you’ll find me behind a microphone at every chance I get! Please let me know if you’d like me to give a health talk at your workplace, gym, club or basically anywhere! I genuinely love sharing how people can get to their peak of health and wellness, no matter what stage of life they are at!
In my personal life, my passions life with my family (my husband Alex who you will no doubt meet at some point, and our 4 beautiful children, Jessica, Ivyn, James, and Abi), and my faith. My list of hobbies used to be long and diverse, but in my current season of life, outside of being a business owner and chiropractor, I am Mum! As a family, we love to travel and see the world, and we do our best to prioritise quality time together amidst the frantic pace of modern life. Staying fit and strong is a high priority for me because I have no desire to slow down as I get older, so you will find me in the gym on a regular basis.
Danielle S.
Clinic Manager
Hi, I’m Danielle and I’m the Clinic Manager here at Alba. I have been here for 8 years now and watched it grow into the place it is today.
I love coming to work to see each and every team member, they are all more like family than colleagues. I also think its amazing to watch the patients journey from when they 1st come in to when they reach their full potential and are able to do all the things they’ve always wanted to do before the pain and restrictions held them back.
In my spare time I am usually running around after my 2 gorgeous girls Sienna and Scarlette taking them here there and everywhere and if not then I’m in the gym 😊 I do enjoy family time with the girls and my husband at the weekends and most of all travelling the world with them taking them to different places and making lots of amazing memories.
